12pm - Intervention VII: Womb Cxre Presents: Landing(s) pt. 2, Phoebe Heinztman Hope

In this second half of a collaboration with CC:MTL's "Clap Back" series, voice and movement will be used as mediums to embody interpersonal landing(s). How does your voice land on others and in spaces you navigate? How is your body influenced by the voices of those around you? This invitation to reflect upon the ripple effect of micro landings works in tandem with the macro effect of the colonial and diasporic presence on Tiohtià:ke. Participants will first be guided through a solo vocal and body warm-up before moving into partner work that will stimulate wider discussions on embodied history, ancestry and future imaginaries. Phoebe Heintzman Hope is a mixed race alien baby artist of Chinese European descent. The work they do in voice, movement and choreography seeks to make space for people to enter a dialogue with their own embodied histories. Over the past five years, they have cultivated a voice and movement practice under the name Womb Cxre. The research they facilitate excavates memories, feelings, thoughts and emotions living on inside the body. 3pm - Intervention VIII: Avalanche Blur, Isabella Weetaluktuk and Camille Georgeson-Usher (Uppity NDNs)

Sometimes life becomes an avalanche that turns daily experience into a blur and our bodies become disconnected from the world; but the smallest thing can bring us back into the space that surrounds us. In the slow moments we allow the world to get back into focus.

Isabella Weetaluktuk is an Inuk filmmaker from Inukjuak, Quebec. Camille Georgeson-Usher is a Coast Salish / Dene scholar from Galiano Island, British Columbia. The two work together as visual artists who explore Indigenous identity through public interventions. Isabella and Camille are members of the Uppity NDNs, an Indigenous women’s bike collective based in Tiohtià:ke.
