Sébastien Cliche is a multidisciplinary artist who lives and works in Montréal. He questions forms of narrative and the place the viewer can take in their construction. For over fifteen years, he has been producing installations, photographs and text-based works, videos and sound. His work has been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions, notably at Centre d’art contemporain de Meymac (France, 2008), l’OEil de poisson (Québec, 2010), Galerie de l’UQAM (Montréal, 2012), as well as in established festivals such as MUTEK (Montréal, 2005 and 2010). As a curator, he produced, among others, the exhibition « L’Oreille dans l’oeil/The Hearing Eye » (Montréal, Ottawa and Québec, 2007-2008). In 2012, he received the Claudine and Stephen Bronfman scholarship and exhibited his work at Optica (Montréal) and Momenta Art (New York), in January 2013 as part of the Montréal-Brooklyn project.

Bernard Schütze is an art critic, curator and translator. Originally from Germany, he has been living and working in Montréal since 1985. His essays have been published in Canadian, American, and European art periodicals (Canadian Art, C Magazine, Ciel variable, Espace sculpture, esse arts + opinions, ETC, Parachute, Spirale, etc.). He is the author of a variety of texts published in exhibition catalogues: Hors de moi / Beside Myself, published on the occasion of Daniel Olson’s eponymous exhibition at Expression; Patrick Bernatchez: Lost in Time,  published by the Galerie de l’UQAM; and, The Québec Triennial 2011: The Work Ahead of Us. Schütze has also authored texts published in artists’ monographs, including Persistance, about the work of Mathieu Beauséjour, and Le Fil d’Ariane, for a project by Aude Moreau. He has given conferences at arts events in Canada and Europe. His work as a translator includes English translations of works by Jean Baudrillard, Felix Guattari, and Heiner Müller.An initiative of the Conférence régionale des élus (CRÉ) in partnership with 30 organizations linked to the digital arts, Digital Spring is the ideal platform for creators and pioneers to connect in the continually evolving sphere of digital creativity.
