Your attendance is kindly requested at this year's Annual General Assembly which will take place on Friday June 14, 2019 at 7pm at articule. Please come early and bring a dish to share. The buffet will start at 6:30 pm.
The agenda for the assembly includes:

This General Assembly is also the opportunity to renew or complete your membershipprocess, and get to know member opportunities.
We are counting on your participation for this year's elections to the Board of Directors. There are 2 seats to be filled for a two-year term.
We are looking for active and engaged members of our community that are interested in taking on the diverse challenges of an artist-run centre, and excited to collectively envision articule’smany possible futures.
This year we are in particular seeking people with experience in policy development, long-term planning, volunteer and member recruitment, and the ability to foster relationships with local community organisations. Knowledge of articule’sinstitutional history is also an asset. However, the Board is also engaged to provide training for new Board members, so this experience is not a requirement to be nominated if candidates demonstrate interestin these areas.

Allison Figueroa Rojas
Allison began her studies in film shortly after moving to Montreal at the age of 18. She was born in Chile and raised part of her life in Canada. As an immigrant to Canada, her experience as a Latinx WOC wishes to disseminate and question identity, place and space through alternative modes of communication. The moving image as visual language is central to her work, where she presents her migrant experience through experimental forms of audio-visual compositions questioning how the moving image crosses borders.
Garfield Morgan
Garfield Morgan is an interdisciplinary artist who emigrated from Jamaica to Montreal with his wife in June 2018. He has an MFA in Painting from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas USA, where he was awarded a Post Graduate Teaching Fellowship upon completing his studies. Since arriving in Montreal, Garfield has completed the “Starting a Business” course through INSA College and is currently completing a Summer Course in Art History at Concordia University, and is also enrolled in French classes at CEDA.
Garfield was extremely impressed by the staff of articule, for the warm welcome that he and his wife received when they first arrived in Montreal. articule was the first organization that they interacted with and the positive encounter established a good precedent for all the constructive interactions that they have had in Montreal since. Based on that first contact, Garfield knew that he wanted to be integrally associated with articule and assist in furthering their mandate.

ABOUT THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
The Board is composed of 7 elected members. The role of the Board of Directors is to take administrative and creative initiative in providing direction on the activities and functioning of articule. This involves attending Board meetings and general assemblies, and keeping oneself informed of the centre's status on several levels: its programming and financial situations, itsstanding within the various collectives and groups it participates in, and its standing vis à vis funding organizations. As well, Board members sit on at least one of the centre’s committees, and attend openings, artist talks, and other articule activities based on their interests. The Board is delegated by the general membership to establish policies. It must, therefore, represent the interests of the general membership.
