articule is proud to present the two-day animation event Creatures in the Night, featuring independant animation works by twenty Canadian artists. Composed of an outdoor animation screening in the Parc Lahaie and a panel discussion with invited artists, the event offers a creative platform for independent animation and wishes to promote and share new developments in animation with peers and the public. In collaboration with Popolo in the Parc, articule will present an evening programme of animation films highlighting innovation in the traditional medium, as well as a sense of wonder and magic that a screening under the open night sky hopes to reflect. From stop-motion to experimental film to digital imaging, these works express the unique diversity of animation as a contemporary art form. We hope that this event will stimulate a sense of discovery, transformation and sensory activation to meet at the unexpected!
