ARTARTAR

articule member's exhibition

January 17 to February 2, 2009
Opening: Saturday, January 17 at 7pm

Soup & Screen: Saturday, January 24 at 7pm
Interconnected Performers: Sunday, February 1 at 3pm

ARTARTAR, the first articule member's exhibition in its new storefront location, offers to nourish your spirits through these cold short days of winter. Showcasing the works of 22 active members, the exhibition will include drawing, video, installation, sculpture, mixed media, photography, performance and interdisciplinary work. ARTARTAR will dish up an enticing array of works that explore the flavors and appearances of food, cooking and consumption - like you have never tasted before!

The winter menu also includes two member-initiated events:
January 24 - The public is invited to Soup & Screen, a fundraiser night organized by Kendyl Rossi and Sheena Hoszko. For a small entrance fee, guests will be provided with a warm bowl of soup to accompany two screened gastronomic movies.
February 1 - InTerreArt, in collaboration with articule Special Projects, presents Interconnected Performers, a performance event curated by Nicole Fournier. This event will present works by Nicole Fournier, Eric Letourneau and Tagny Duff, along with other performers including dogs, plant food, micro-organisms and other interconnected matter.

All the works presented in ARTARTAR combine to illustrate the broad range of artistic practice that artist-run culture supports. The taste of artistic adventure will remain "piquant" as these delectable objects and events are savored!
